Snaps from the main event!📸 We were lucky to have witnessed three different kinds of shishi-odori (deer dance): hashino shishi-odori, usazawa shishi-odori, touzenji shishi-odori. I think this show the inclusive character of Kamaishi community because both men and women, young and old people were able to take part in this event. Shishi odori has done a lot for the community especially during their trying times! I think because of the dance, somehow it helped the people overcome their adversities. If you ask me if anybody can dance this type of dance. I say yes! You just need to put your heart in to it! With enough grace, rhythm, beat and time to practice, I am pretty sure you will be dancing like a local too! I am hoping the next time I visit in Kamaishi I can finally see the different shishi-odori dance in the mystical forest and shrines of the town! Thank you Kamaishi for the fun (tiring!😂) 2 days!😉❤️#kamaishi #iwate #gogotohoku #復興を感じたこと#disaster #recovery #cultural #awareness #experience #japan #deer #dance #portraits_ig #ig_japan #ig_world #復興を感じたこと #ドコモレインボープロジェクト Credits to @jessharamura for the wonderful photos!👏🏻😉
